With SproutCore 2 we are seeing a similar shift from 1 as we maybe saw in Rails 3 from 2. Not surprising since Yehuda Katz is involved (who worked on Merb which then joined forces with Rails).SproutCore apps have pushed the boundaries of CSS transitions/transforms, so it it natural that some of that goodness has come out of SproutCore itself into TransformJS:
Today we got a sneak peak at the next version of SproutCore via a developer preview. One of the biggest differences that jumped out to me was the change from coding everything through JS APIs to being able to do much more via HTML, CSS, and templates (handle bars).
The new SproutCore website is a nice showcase for the library. The carousel at the heart of it is delightful. It is fun to flip between the sections and see the entire background animate its color.
SproutCore 1.5 has been released with a new modular design and improvements such as a handlebars TemplateView (HTML friendly), a new default look and feel, updated build tools, and more.
